Andrea completed her RYT 200 hour teacher training through Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico. She is certified in Hatha yoga with an Iyengar influence. The month long intensive training focused on training and practice of techniques of Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Chanting, Anatomy & Philosophy, Yogic Philosophy, Ethics and Life-style, and Teaching Practicum. Andrea teaches an invigorating and challenging class while providing modifications for all levels. She allows for her students to work at their own pace and welcomes the beginner up to the seasoned yogini! Come to class ready for a different theme or to work towards a final pose and leave relaxed and rejuvenated. Her teaching style is a mix of vinyasa flow, which moves gently and swiftly from one pose to another with Iyengar, which focuses on alignment for the safety of the body and receiving the most benefits from each pose. She considers herself a life-long learner and therefore enjoys practicing along with teaching her students. She is also a student of Kundalini yoga and meditation classes. Andrea has studied with teachers such as Theresa Rowlands, Natasha Rizopolous, James Brown, Seanne Corn, and Suzanne Sterling. Along with yoga, Andrea loves engaging in most healthy outdoor activities, spending time with family and friends, traveling, languages, and cultures.
Most recently Andrea participated in her first Vision Quest or Solo time in nature where she camped in the desert and on the Pacific Coastline for 4 days. Fasting for 4 days and no human contact was an amazing discovery of the self and created a deeper connection with the self and with nature.
